My name is Dr. Fernando Siles, and I was born in Peru. I earned my medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University and, in 1974, relocated to the United States to complete my training in psychiatry.
My journey with music began in 1972 when I started playing the flute. In 1993, I expanded my focus to include songwriting and the use of visual imagery alongside therapeutic flute music to promote relaxation, hope, motivation, and overall well-being. This approach is exemplified in my 2007 album, Peruvian Soul, and my 2010 release, The Flute Doctor. Both albums are available on YouTube under “Dr. Fernando Siles.”
Recently, I completed a new album titled Grief Music. This work, now available on TikTok, was inspired by the research of Dr. Elizabeth Kübler-Ross on the stages of grief. I had the honor of meeting Dr. Kübler-Ross in Dallas in 1992, and her groundbreaking insights deeply influenced the conceptual framework of this album. Each song reflects elements of her research, offering a therapeutic journey through the grieving process.
Further details about the therapeutic applications and benefits of Grief Music, set for release in 2025, will be shared on this platform.
